How many teeth can a dentist pull out in one day?

There is

no limit to the number of teeth you can have pulled at the same time. While extracting multiple teeth during the same procedure is rare, it is sometimes the only option for patients with severe tooth decay. There is no clear rule for the number of teeth that can be safely extracted in one session. The answer depends on your oral health situation and your oral surgeon’s recommendations.

In some cases, full-mouth extraction may be appropriate. How many teeth need to be extracted depends on your individual case. For example, it is possible that several teeth that must be removed to protect your oral health are irreparable, or you may have between 1 and 4 wisdom teeth that must be removed at the same time. Before each extraction, we will carefully check your health condition, how difficult the extractions will be, which teeth need to be removed, and so on.

From this point of view, it may be the right option to have more than one tooth extracted during an appointment. STEM dentistry can extract one or more teeth during your dental appointment. For example, many of our patients in Dallas and Houston, TX have impaired wisdom teeth and must have all four removed at once. If you have other problem teeth, we will assess their condition and make sure that no other restorative measures can be taken to preserve them.

Before you begin the procedure, your dentist will explain everything to you in detail to make sure you understand what’s about to happen. Extracting a tooth is a common dental procedure, but occasionally more than one tooth must be extracted. You can live without one or two teeth without major consequences, but if you lose multiple teeth at once, the jawbone must be reshaped to prepare for a dental bridge or denture. MINT Dentistry can give you specific instructions on how to clean and care for your mouth at home.

If you’re afraid of having your teeth extracted, rest assured that STEM dentistry performs this standard dental procedure on a daily basis. In a simple extraction of one or two teeth, dentists and surgeons usually use local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth.
